LAST DAY-Z | PART 1

This project would have never came about if it wasn't for the request of Team Pro Creator MLOFNC! He suggested we should do a Team Halloween map for the upcoming HW callout and not only did we do one, we dived in super deep with this one!

Discussions about the project began to take place around two to three months before the Halloween Call Out was announced. We gathered concepts and discussed ideas of how the project should be laid out, including the development of the POI's or levels the player will be going through. A script was written by Dragon to compliment the storyline, helping to guide the team in the project creation.

THE CHALLENGE
As the project progressed, many challenges arose. For instance, since it was decided to produce the map in a linear fashion, which meant having neighboring POI's and devices near one another, we were faced with a plethora of memory issues throughout the project. And with ideas continuously being reintroduced, the process began to become daunting for some. With time and effort, we were able to conquer this challenge by optimizing and finding alternate solutions that produces the same results. This experience, even though as heavy as it was, has elevated our experience on handling the creation of project that require heavy mechanics alongside intricate aesthetic details.

ABOUT THE MAP
Escape the ravaged city with the help of Jonesy, an agent undercover who has been missing for 30 days. Solve puzzles to make your way through spooky POI's such as the ravaged city, deserted town, abandoned university, spooky forest and military facility. Get clues as to what is happening to everyone as you battle your way through swarms of zombies to make it to the helicopter in order to escape this forsaken city the Last Day!
